Piers Morgan asked trump: “Do you wished you’d served in Vietnam?”

Trump’s answer:
‘I was never a fan of that war. I thought it was a terrible war, it was very far away.
‘Nobody had heard of Vietnam… this wasn’t like fighting against Nazi Germany or Hitler. I wasn’t out on the streets marching or saying I would move to Canada but I wasn’t a fan.
‘I would have been honoured [to serve in the military generally] but I think I’m making up for it now because we’re rebuilding our military at a level you’ve never seen before.’
EDITOR’S NOTE: As a war veteran, I think Trump’s answer was an insult to all those who served in Vietnam.
When he said he would have been honored to serve in the military, he meant only during peacetime when there would be no chance he would have to face an enemy soldier trying to shoot his ass off.
What a preposterous claim that he’s making up for having been a draft dodging coward by rebuilding our military. Unbelievable!
Trump did not even try to get a deferment of one kind or another, relying instead on his wealthy father to find a crooked doctor he could bribe for the diagnosis of a medical problem his son did not have.
The decent thing Trump should have done was to apologize for having been a draft dodger and tell Piers Morgan he feels ashamed for his cowardice ... but then Trump never apologizes for anything and saying he was ashamed would have been a lie. The man has no shame!
There are those who brush aside his cowardice by saying they are proud of Trump for doing so much for our veterans. And they will justify his draft dodging because the Vietnam War was never even a declared war, just a police action that was a tragic mistake in which our own military killed students on a college campus and nearly 60,000 soldiers died before we pulled out. My response to such a lame excuse is: You cannot make chicken soup out of chicken shit!
