It appears that at least some of the anti-vaccination psychopaths are threatening to leave the formerly great state of California if the new restrictions pass into law. I somehow expect it is sort of like the Hollywood nut jobs threatening to leave the country if Trump got elected. As far as I know, none of them actually did so.
It is unknown if Governor Newsom will sign the bill if it gets to his desk.
MY personal beef with it (for what my opinion may be worth to you) is that the bill should have exempted private schools. If you are paying your own way and want to send your rugrat to a disease pit, that's your choice. The legislative proposal covers all schools, public and private.
The Dept. of Helath says that, statewide, childhood vaccination rates are well above 95%. There are, however, individual schools and districts where the numbers drop well below the "herd immunity" rate.
EDITOR'S NOTE: But Bob, the problem is that when a measles infected kid leaves that private school in the afternoon, he will then infect other kids and adults.
