On January 1 a new law kicks into place in in the formerly great state of California which outlaws privately operated immigration detention facilities.
On Friday the feds announced long-term multi-billion dollar contracts for privately operated detention facilities in San Diego, Calexico, Adelanto and Bakersfield.
While I am personally opposed to private prisons on general principles I am in favor of anything that causes Gavin Newsom discomfort and makes him look like a dick.
In addition the feds are likely to file suit after January 1 to block the law, which is likely unconstitutional.
