AND ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST

But There Are Always Plenty More

by Bob Walsh

The count dropped by one extra SATF (Substance Abuse Treatment Facility) at the Cal. State Prison at Corcoran on Monday.

Daniel Gonzales and a buddy attacked a third inmate in a prison day room. The victim was stabbed more than 40 times. Staff fired two blunt impact projectiles at the attackers but the bad guys kept at it, so one officer fired for effect with a .223 caliber rifle. Gonzales bit the big weenie on that one.

Gonzales originally became a guest of the state in 2005 for attempted second degree robbery out of L.A. He picked up a life sentence for an in-custody attempted murder and ADW while a prisoner.

The stabbing victim is now at an off-grounds hospital. Presumably the other attacker is in custody and may face charges for Gonzales' death under the felony murder rule.
