Brandon Keithly Staples of Stockton is a moronic young man. He decided it would be fun to shoot at patrons of a local gay bar with a paintball gun. He was stupid enough to get caught.
He copped to some of the basics, including the hate crime enhancement. He will be sentenced November 17, almost certainly to three years in the county slammer. That may mean he does 18 months. It may mean he does almost no time, though due to the political sensitivity of "hate crimes"
I don't think they will be letting him out horribly early.
