TRUMP SCORES TWO HEAVY PUNCHES DURING SECOND DEBATE

Hillary won over the roomful of ‘undecided’ voters after the debate was over

If you compared the second debate to a boxing match, you would have to say that Hillary landed a steady barrage of jabs on Trump while The Donald landed two heavy punches on Clinton.

When Hillary was asked about emails recently released by Wikileaks in which she tells banking executives she found it necessary to have both a “public and a private position,” she tried to justify it by referring to Abraham Lincoln. “As I recall that was something I said about Abraham Lincoln after having seen the wonderful Stephen Spielberg movie.”

Trump pounced, landing a heavy blow. “So ridiculous,” said Trump. “She got caught in a total lie... She lied. And now she’s blaming the lie on the late, great Abraham Lincoln – Honest Abe. Honest Abe never lied. That’s the big difference between Abraham Lincoln and you. That’s a big difference.”

When Clinton tried to defend her deletion of emails, Trump said, “I hate to say it, but if I win, I am going to instruct my attorney general to get a special prosecutor to look into your situation.

Clinton shot back with, “It’s awfully good that someone with the temperament of Donald Trump is not in charge of the law in our country.”

And that’s when Trump landed another heavy punch, “Because you’d be in jail.”

Fortunately for Hillary, this is the classic case of a boxer beating a puncher.

Because Hillary peppered Trump throughout the debate with jabs about his debasement, her record during the past two years and what she planned to do for the country, you would have to give her the edge in this bout. While Hillary was bloodied and Trump was unscathed, the decision still goes to Clinton. Sorry folks, but Hillary ain’t a going into the pokey.

But after the debate was over, Hillary won over the crowd of ‘undecided’ voters. Trump and his family made a hasty exit while Hillary, Bill and Chelsea stayed behind and glad-hand almost everyone in the room, taking many selfies along the way. That’s where Hillary really won the debate – after it was all over. I believe that most of those voters they glad-handed will now vote for Hillary.

As for those carefully chosen ‘undecided’ voters, I suspect that some of them were really not undecided. The way two blacks worded their questions led me to believe they were really Clinton supporters, not undecided voters.

Even if Trump had kayoed Hillary in the debate, it wouldn’t have made any difference. He was already dead in the water. On Saturday I compared Trump’s campaign to a ship that left its convoy during WW2. I compared the audio of Trump’s lecherous remarks to U-boat torpedoes. When the ship came within the sight of a German U-boat, it was sunk by one of those torpedoes. Instead of coming to its rescue, other ships (Republicans) distanced themselves from the wreckage floating in the water for fear of being hit by another torpedo.

And that’s exactly what’s happening right now. Republican candidates for Congress and State or local offices are distancing themselves from Trump, afraid that a Hillary landslide will carry down ballot Democrats to victory with her.
