SIX FLAGS MINUS ONE OVER TEXAS

Texas has existed under the flags of six nations, but political correctness prohibits any display of one of those flags

By Trey Rusk

If the term 6 Flags over Texas is correct, then the Confederate flag would be included but it is not.

I remember as a child that it was considered one of the 6 flags. These flags include those of Spain, France, Mexico, the Republic of Texas, the United States of America, and the Confederate States of America.

Because political correctness prohibits any display of the Confederate flag, the 6 Flags Theme Parks have been flying 6 U.S. flags since 2017 in place of the original 6 flags over Texas.

I used to see Confederate flags regularly in East Texas but not as often in the Houston area.

Texas did join the Confederacy even when Sam Houston advised against it. It was an ill advised decision voted for by 3/4 of the people even though only one in four families owned slaves.

The South lost and bad times beset Texas for an additional 20 years.

Most Texans now don't speak of the North or South. They say, "Texas is Texas."
