A woman was knocked to the ground and trampled by a police horse during a
George Floyd protest in Houston on Friday.
Police said they were
investigating the incident on Saturday as they prepared for further
protests in the city.
The video shows the woman standing with her back
to the camera when the police horse plows into her and stamps on her as
she struggles to get up. It is not clear if the woman was injured.
There
were 137 arrests and eight police officers were injured in Houston on
Friday night as protests gathered over the death of Floyd while in
police custody.
He was a Houston native. The demonstrations continued on
Saturday night.'
EDITOR'S
NOTE: TV news cameras filmed Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo as he
marched together with a group of protesters. Acevedo was walking
alongside a huge black man who was spouting off to the cameras. Acevedo
kept nodding to the man's remarks. What a schmuck! I suppose he
figured that by marching with the protesters, he would prevent what took
place later that evening ... four of his cops were hospitalized and 16
police cars damaged. What a jerk! With his officers being assaulted by
Kaepernick's freedom fighters, you would think Acevedo had much more
important business to take care of than marching with the protesters.
As
for the horse knocking the woman down, I'm sure the rider did not
deliberately have his horse plow into her, nor did the horse
deliberately stamp on her.
