MORE GUN RESTRICTIONS COMING IN CA ..... MAYBE

by Bob Walsh

There is a "handgun roster" in the formerly great state of California. This is a list of current production guns known by the state to not be unsafe. Cops and police departments can buy guns that are not on the list. Private citizens can not, at least not new from a gun dealer. (They can be bought as used private party transfers, which has led to a significant underground police resale market.)

There is currently about to go to court review a legal action to overturn the roster as being unconstituional.

Also, there is a new legislative proposal, AB2847. If passed into law this would require that three guns be dropped off the list for every new gun that is placed on the list. Under the current rule a gun, once approved, stays on for five years.

To get on the list you must submit three copies of EACH VARIATION of the weapon for very expensive destructive testing to determine that it is not unsafe. If you make exactly the same gun with fixed sights and adjustable sights, you must submit three copies of EACH. If you make exactly the same gun in a 3", 4" and 6" configuration you must submit three copies of EACH. A lot of guns are not for sale in CA because the makers don't want to put up with the expense and the bullshit, which of course is exactly what the anti-gun psychopaths want.
