PEGGING OUT THE STINK-O-METER

By Bob Walsh

Something truly tragic, but also highly suspicious, happened in Sacramento (CA) Monday.

A mother called 911 to report that he 2-year old daughter had shot herself in the head. The ambulance and cops arrived promptly. The child is still in the hospital in critical condition. That’s where the story starts to morph into a three day old unrefrigerated fish.

Besides the child there were (allegedly) three adult women in the house, including the child’s mother. The gun is nowhere to be found and the cops are still looking, even today. It has not been reported if they did a GSR (gunshot residue) test on the child, or any of the women. It has not been reported if any of the women owned the gun, or who may have owned it. Caliber and other information are unknown, or at least unreported.

I grant you I am at times suspicious of stories that don’t quite add up. This one doesn’t. Clearly if the child had accidentally shot herself (not an impossible thing for a 2-year old to do) the gun should still be there. Clearly someone removed it. Was the child GSR tested? Were the women? Was there somebody else (maybe another child) in the house at the time. Maybe it’s just me but this story has, at minimum, some big holes in it. Big enough to drive a hearse thru.
