Statues are being vandalized and removed, the Confederate flag is being banned by NASCAR, the NFL is apologizing for not recognizing the significance of taking the knee, reality TV cop shows will no longer be shown and cops now feel like Vietnam veterans returning to a country that hates them.
In a kick below the belt against the police, Houston's uber-left DA Kim Ogg has dismissed nearly 800 criminal charges against protestors arrested by Houston cops.
The country has descended into sheer madness over the murder of a career criminal by a Minneapolis cop.
The rioters that looted, burned, fire bombed the police and otherwise assaulted cops, were encouraged to do so by Colin Kaepernick who refers to them as "freedom fighters" ... and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is now apologizing to that creep.
Bill de Blasio, the Sandinista-loving mayor of New York now says "everything named after Robert E. Lee in NYC has to go."
In Seattle protesters have established what they call the 'Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone,' or CHAZ, setting up barricades and armed checkpoints and declaring that police are not allowed inside the zone. What has the city done about it? It provided the insurrectionists with garbage cans and porta potties. And what did the police do? Absolutely nothing!
Here in Houston, Mayor Sylvester Turner announced the statues of Richard Dowling in Hermann Park and the Spirit of Confederacy in Sam Houston Park will be removed on Juneteenth Day.
Not only have the statues of Confederate heroes been vandalized and pulled down all over the country, but statues of Christopher Columbus have also been vandalized, including the one here in Houston.
Republican senators have joined with the Democrats in voting to change the names of 10 US Army bases that are named after Confederate generals.
We've had this teachable moment before with the Rodney King beating 29 years ago.
So, what will the protests and riots accomplish besides demonizing all of our brave police officers and getting Kaepernick back in the NFL?
When all this madness is over and done with and the protesters have gone home, one thing is for sure: There will not be any less racism in the US.
