Argument over Clearwater, Florida handicap parking space leads to deadly shooting.

On Thursday afternoon, Britany Jacobs, 24, pulled into a handicap parking space in front of a Clearwater, Florida convenience store. After her boyfriend Markeis McGlockton and their 5-year-old son had entered the store, Jacobs was confronted by Michael Drejka, 47, because she did not have a handicap tag.
When McGlockton came out of the store he saw the two arguing. Without hesitating, he knocked Drejka on his ass. And without hesitating, Drejka pulled out his gun and shot McGlockton once in the chest as the bigger man towered over him. McGlockton staggered back into the store where he croaked.
Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri said Friday that Drejka would not be arrested because his investigators determined the shooting falls within Florida’s Stand Your Ground law – the shooter was in fear of his life.
However, the case has been turned over to the State's Attorney's Office and Drejka could still be charged in the death of McGlockton.
In my opinion Drejka should never have confronted Jacobs. Instead he should have called the police to report the handicap parking violation. And I have some doubt as to whether he really feared for his life. It seems more likely he shot McGlockton because he was even more pissed off now that his ass was on the ground than he was because of the wrongful parking.
