Former CIA director John Brennan called Trump’s press conference remarks “nothing short of treasonous”

It looks as though the Democrats and some Republicans wanted Trump to kick the shit out of Putin for Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential election. Instead, Trump went out of his way to be nice to and about Putin during their post-meeting press conference in Helsinki.
Trump was immediately condemned, not only by the Democrats, but by some Republicans as well, As can be expected, Trump-hater John McCain said: “Today’s press conference in #Helsinki was one of the most disgraceful performances by an American president in memory.”
The most revolting condemnation came from former CIA director John Brennan, a perpetual Trump critic who has had a difficult time extracting his nose out of the asses of Obama and Hillary Clinton. Brennan tweeted:
Donald Trump’s press conference performance in Helsinki rises to and exceeds the threshold of “high crimes and misdemeanors.” It was nothing short of treasonous. Not only were Trump’s comments imbecilic, he is wholly in the pocket of Putin.
It should be noted that 'high crimes and misdemeanors’ are the constitutional standard for impeaching the president, an action that would no doubt make Brennan extremely happy.
Let’s get real. The three most powerful nations in the world are the United States, Russia and China. If you would take the U.S. out of NATO, the remaining group of nations would not be able to withstand an attack by the Russians.
It made good sense for Trump to try and reverse the cold war-like relationship that has been developing between Russia and the U.S., and you can’t do that by kicking the shit out of Putin.
Putin is the ruler of Russia. He has been making Russia great again. If you want to stop this cold war nonsense, which is a serious threat to the security of the U.S., you do it with Putin. In his meeting with trump and during the press conference, Trump did not give the store away. Nor is the president anywhere near in the pocket of Putin.
Instead of being condemned, Trump deserves to be praised for trying to improve relations with Russia.
