There will be a presidential election in France this year. It is getting interesting. Marine Le Pen, the head of the right-wing National Front Party, has been getting a lot of press time blasting both Islamic Fundamentalism and globalization, asserting that they are totalitarian structures and are threatening France.
"We are at a crossroads. This election is a choice of civilizations." Ms. LePen is getting a great deal of traction with hard-core nationalism, and is ahead in many polls. Her campaign slogan is "In The Name Of The People."
The current president, socialist weenie Francois Hollande, is not running for another term, because he is afraid of having his ass handed to him. There are a LOT of people in France who are scared shitless over Islamic intrusions into the French political infrastructure to the point where they are afraid their culture will be an erased minority in the foreseeable future. Until recently France was officially a Catholic country and their culture is still overwhelmingly Christian, though the "native" population is underbreeding and the immigrant population is breeding like rats.
The election will be April 23 with a run-off, if necessary, on May 7.
