QUIS CUSTODIET IPSOS CUSTODES?

Who Shall Protect Us From Those Who Protect Us?

by Bob Walsh

It seems that James A. Wolf, formerly the security director for the Senate Intelligence Committee, has just been indicted for making false statements to J. Edgar Hoover and Company. Wolf, 58, held this gig for 29 years. If the leaks about this are right he had a mutually beneficial arrangement with a New York Times Reporter. He got to pump her, she got to pump him.

Wolf has copped to at least some of the charges involving three reporters. A fair number of his unauthorized and later lied about contacts with these reporters concerned Carter Page, formerly a Trump campaign advisor. He often had dozens of text messages a day with these reporters, often only minutes after receiving sensitive or classified information.

The feds have subpoenaed records of the female reporter, Ali Watkins. These include YEARS of phone records. Interestingly, when she went from BuzzFeed to the N Y Slimes she disclosed that she had been banging Wolf.

Wolf has denied leaking any classified material though is, for now, only charged with lying to the FBI. Presumably he is now in deep Kimchi. I suspect that, allowing for both Trump's and Sessions' dislike for leakers Wolf is probably going to end up on the wrong end of things.

Prior to this gig Wolf was in the military in an intelligence capacity. He retired last month from federal employment.
