INTERESTING ATTACK ON SANCTUARY CITIES

by Bob Walsh

A bill making its way thru congress would, if passed into law, make it considerably easier for individuals to sue local governments over damages caused by illegal aliens protected by sanctuary city policies.

The bill would specifically make it easier to sue if an illegal alien who had been freed even though a detainer had been issued and if that illegal alien was later convicted of murder, rape or sexual abuse of a child. The bill would also allow states (i. e.California) to be sued if their state policies "forced" local governments to obey state sanctuary policies.

The bill would also commit the feds to defending local governments in such states who choose to cooperate with ICE in violation of state law or policy.

The passage of the bill is far from a sure thing.

EDITOR'S NOTE: Far from a sure thing? It will never see the light of day.
