INTERESTING ARREST AND LAWSUIT

by Bob Walsh

On May 4 of last year Craig Williams was tackled and arrested in the parking lot of a 7-11 in Sacramento. His crime, leaving his car running (with the stereo blasting) in the parking lot while he entered the store.

Leaving the keys in an unattended vehicle is in fact a crime under both city and state law. It typically results in a fine of less than $50.

Williams was arrested for resisting arrest and being a dick in public. The D A declined to prosecute. He is suing for $100,000 for various civil rights and use of force issues.
