Sandra Parks died at the age of 13 a couple of days ago in Milwaukee. Two years ago, when she was in the sixth grade, she wrote a notable essay about gun violence in her city. She was watching TV in her bedroom on Monday when several bullets blasted into her home. One hit her. She walked into the front room, said "Mama, I'm shot" and then died.
Two young men, Issac D. Barnes, 26, and Untrell oden, 27, are under arrest on suspicion of the homicide. They both have extensive police records, including armed robbery. It is unknown if the shooting was random or targeted.
