President Trump again put his mouth in motion before putting his brain in gear

What would have been a scathing indictment of Jews voting for Democrats turned into a question of loyalty.
During a White House meeting Tuesday with the president of Romania in the Oval Office, reporters questioned Trump about Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib’s call for a halt to aid for Israel. The President told the reporters:
“The concept of even talking about this ... of cutting off aid to Israel because of two people that hate Israel and hate Jewish people, I can't believe we’re even having this conversation. Where has the Democratic Party gone? Where have they gone ... where they're defending these two people over the state of Israel?”
Then he went on to say:
“I think Jewish people that vote for a Democrat — I think it shows either a total lack of knowledge or great disloyalty.”
If Trump had just said Jews who vote for Democrats have a total lack of knowledge, he would have been spot on. But by adding the disloyalty (to Israel) bit he blew it big time.
The accusation that Jews have a dual loyalty to the US and Israel has long been considered anti-Semitic. And Trump even slammed Omar a while back for saying it.
That disloyalty bit opened the door for Jewish members of Congress and for Jewish organizations to trounce on Trump.
This is just another example of Trump putting his mouth in motion before putting his brain in gear.
