Fox News’ Tomi Lahren blasts ‘former drug dealer’ Jay-Z and NFL’s new partnership

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Rap legend Jay-Z and the NFL are joining forces.

Roc Nation, the entertainment company founded by Jay-Z, has established a multiyear partnership with the NFL to help lead the league’s live events and social justice efforts. That includes Jay-Z having a hand in picking the performers for the Super Bowl.

But Fox News pundit Tomi Lahren isn’t having it. The network’s commentator tweeted out her disgust over the deal, labeling Jay-Z, real name Shawn Carter, as a “former drug dealer.”

“Jay-Z will be consulting with the NFL for the Super Bowl halftime show and other performances because apparently the league doesn't hate America and law enforcement officers at a level satisfactory enough for the former drug dealer,” Lahren tweeted.

Yes, Jay-Z is a former drug dealer turned billionaire from music ventures and an active supporter of San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick. Jay-Z has even turned down previous Super Bowl invites in support of Kaepernick.

But the hip-hop mogul now wants to inspire change.

“With its global reach, the National Football League has the platform and opportunity to inspire change across the country," Jay-Z said, in a statement. “Roc Nation has shown that entertainment and enacting change are not mutually exclusive ideas -- instead, we unify them. This partnership is an opportunity to strengthen the fabric of communities across America.”

EDITOR’S NOTE: Toni Lahren is spot on.

Last September, instead of condemning Colin Kaepernick’s demonstration of disrespect for flag and nation, the NFL issued this statement: “The National Football League believes in dialogue, understanding and unity. We embrace the role and responsibility of everyone involved with this game to promote meaningful, positive change in our communities. The social justice issues that Colin and other professional athletes have raised deserve our attention and action.”

And a spineless roger Goodell said: “I truly respect our players wanting to speak out and change the community. We don't live in a perfect society. We want them to use that voice. They're moving from protests to progress and trying to make things happen in the communities, and I admire that about our players [being] willing to do that.” While he does not want the players to take a knee during the anthem, the asshole is still praising them for doing so.

The partnership with Jay-Z, a strong supporter of Kaeperdick, is likely to bring the former 49ers quarterback back into the league.
