Wayne LaPierre has warned Trump that he will lose the support of NRA members if he approves any additional gun control laws

Wayne LaPierre is head of the National Rifle Association. As such, he has a seven-figure salary which has allowed him to go on numerous luxury shopping sprees. It has been reported that LaPierre now wants the NRA buy him a $6 million mansion at an exclusive golf community. Despite a number of scandals in the top ranks of the organization, the NRA membership just can’t bring itself to fire LaPierre’s sorry ass.

In the wake of the El Paso and Dayton shootings, LaPierre has warned President Trump that he will lose the support of nra members if he approves any additional gun control laws.

LaPierre is either an idiot or he thinks Trump is one. Who are the NRA members going to support? Virulent ant-gunner Joe Biden? Anti-gun crackpot Beto O’Rourke? Anti-gunners Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris, Bernie Sanders or Mayor Pete? The answer is ‘none of the above.’

Of course, the NRA members could stay home during election day. But sitting the election out on their happy asses would be the same as voting for one of the anti-gunners. LaPierre’s threat is an empty one because the NRA members, if they are smarter than he is, will vote for Trump because they really have no other choice.

Besides that, it appears as though the influence of the NRA is waning. In 2018, 21 congressional candidates supported by the NRA lost.
