CALIFORNIA DOG THROWER BUSTED IN GOLD COUNTRY

by Bob Walsh

Sunday morning a routine traffic violation turned into a pretty interesting car chase near Arnold along Hwy 4. Among other things the driver threw a small white dog out of the car as he was fleeing the cops. Maybe he thought the dog would rat him out if caught. The dog survived OK. The driver was caught eventually even though the chase was stopped off due to the fleeing driver's driving like an absolute idiot.

About 3 1/2 hours after initial contact the cops caught Skyler Gregory, 20, of Arnold and arrested him on a ton of charges including felony reckless evasion, animal cruelty, drug paraphernalia, driving without a license, and an outstanding warrant. He admitted to being a gas siphoner. He is being held pending $75,000 bail. They should lock him in the local dog pound, just on general principles. They also found meth in the car, which is probably why he thought the dog would rat him out.
