HOUSTON - A minor crash Wednesday was followed by a shootout and two people being injured in west Houston, according to police.
The shooting was reported at 2:41 p.m. at the intersection Kirkwood and Westheimer roads.
Houston police said there was a argument after the crash and guns were pulled. They said two men began shooting at each other.
"And then you heard it again…pop pop pop pop pop. Yeah we were afraid. People were running. We didn’t know if it was a terrorist attack or what…cause that’s how many shots it was. He was just losing it -- pop pop pop. People were running all into the stores," witness Alex Clark said. "I’m pretty sure the old guy reloaded -- because there was a silence for about 30 seconds and then he started again…started letting loose again."
One of the men was injured and taken to Ben Taub Hospital for treatment, police said. They said the ear of a woman, who was a bystander, was grazed by one of the shots.
Police said the other man was taken into custody.
