INTERESTING WAY OF DEALING (?) WITH A PROBLEM

by Bob Walsh

As regular readers will know the City and County of San Francisco is undergoing a rash of auto burglaries. This is happening because the D.A. refuses to prosecute these acts as crimes. He has, however, proposed that SF pay for fixing the damaged cars of people who are victims of this crime. Last year 25,677 people reported auto burglaries. The D.A. wants $1.5 million to pay for the damages. It isn't clear right now how the mayor feels about that.
