FIVE-YEAR OLDS WITH HAND GRENADES

The world just became a much more dangerous place

by Bob Walsh

Assuming all the talking heads on TV are to be believed the DIA has just announced that they are pretty sure the North Koreans now have managed to miniaturize a nuke sufficiently to mount it on one of their fledgling ICBMs. Also, they are allegedly seriously thinking about taking a pot shot at Guam. Assuming this is all correct I am GUESSING that Kim Jong Un thinks he could get away with sticking his thumb in the eye of the U. S. and that we would not retaliate meaningfully over Guam.

It is hard to know what to do in these circumstances. The CORRECT thing to do would have been to beat his ass years ago BEFORE he had a nuclear arsenal and the means to deliver it. Our previous Presidents pretty well screwed the pooch on that, leaving The Donald to deal with this moron.

MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction) only works if you have rational players. I am unsure that NoKo is a rational player. It is more than possible that that crazy motherfucker actually believes his own press.

I am, however, also unsure that Trump will roll over and piss on himself like Barry would have. For all I know he will decide to turn North Korea into a radioactive parking lot for the Kia and Hyundai factories in the south. That would be fine by me. The secondary issues would be a bitch, but still somebody has to stand up to dangerous crazy people with weapons.

I am not saying that point is here yet. I am saying that that point could be rapidly approaching and decided what to do AFTER the first nuke flies is not the way to do it. Unfortunately I think Kim Jong Un is too fucking stupid, or too fucking crazy, to react rationally to a REAL threat of retaliation or even first strike active deterrence. And you can only scream I WILL KILL YOU for so long until you have to either put up or shut up.

When dangerous crazy people threaten you, it behooves you to listen. The world didn't do that 80 years ago and look what happened. It can happen again, if we let it.

EDITOR'S NOTE: Not to be out-threatened by Kim, Trump told a press briefing that "North Korea best not make any more threats to the United States. They will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen."

I think by that he means "to turn North Korea into a radioactive parking lot for the Kia and Hyundai factories in the south."

Yup, two five-year olds playing with grenades. If they're not careful those grenades could go kaboom!
