KOOKS IN LA ARE SET TO ERASE COLUMBUS FROM HISTORY

L.A. city council will consider changing the name of Columbus Day to Indigenous Peoples Day

To show that it is politically correct, the NCAA has banned the use of nicknames and mascots that could be deemed offensive to American Indians … Oops, I should have said Native Americans. Here are just a few examples of colleges and universities which changed their names:

Stanford University – Indians to Cardinals
Dartmouth – Indians to Big Green
Eastern Michigan – Hurons to Eagles
St. John's (N.Y.) – Redman to Red Storm
Marquette – Warriors to Golden Eagles
Louisiana-Monroe – Indiana to Warhakws
Arkansas State – Indians to Red Wolves
William and Mary – Indians to Tribe

Red Storm? Sounds like a communist invasion. Well, it may just reflect the capture of many colleges and universities by Marxist professors.

And in a rush to get in the PC line, school boards have also changed their names and mascots of countless schools so as not to offend any Indians. And there have been demands that the names of the Cleveland Indians baseball team and the Chicago Blackhawks hockey team be changed. Then there is the outcry over the Washington Redskins and how demeaning the term ‘redskins’ is to Indians … er, Native Americans. Daniel Snyder, owner of the Redskins – please forgive me for using that fowl name – so much as told those, who are demanding he change the team’s name, to fuck off.

Now the craziness is taking a great leap forward. While some Indians have long opposed honoring Columbus on his official holiday, the Los Angeles city council appears set to erase Columbus from history. By a 3-0 vote, a council committee recommended Wednesday that the City of Los Angeles replace Columbus Day with what would be called Indigenous Peoples Day. The proposal includes the recommendation for city staff to begin the process of replacing Columbus Day to Indigenous Peoples Day in the Los Angeles Administrative Code no later than 2019.

Councilman Mitch O'Farrell, who authored the proposal, is a member of the Wyandotte Native American tribe. He reasoned that Columbus Day should be replaced because of “Columbus' legacy of extreme violence, enslavement and brutality” and “the suffering, destruction of cultures, and subjugation of Los Angeles' original indigenous people, who were here thousands of years before anyone else.”

Whoa there, has O'Farrell completely lost his mind? Columbus was never anywhere near L.A. As a matter of fact Columbus never set foot on mainland America. He messed around San Salvador and several other Caribbean islands. The Indians of Southern California were not victimized by Columbus, but by good old white Americans. Thus O'Farrell would have made better sense calling for the Fourth of July to be changed to Indigenous Peoples Day. After all, it was the good people of the then 13 United States who went west and drove the Indians from their lands. Columbus had long since been dead.

Can you imagine what would happen in New York if the city council there decided to replace Columbus Circle with Indigenous Peoples Circle? Why, the Italian-Americans in New York would revolt and they would be led by the Mafia.

And let’s not forget Columbus, Ohio. Can you imagine Indigenous Peoples, Ohio? I don’t think so.

Replace the name of Columbus, Texas? Any fool proposing that would be lucky to escape with his life.

Indigenous People? I’ll bet most Native Americans do not have a clue as to what that means. And I’ll also bet that most American Indians don’t give a rat’s ass about the Washington Redskins name. Just like with the Confederate monuments, it’s only a few agitators who are raising hell about our history and they are conning us into believing that they are speaking for the masses. And because of that, heroes of our past are being erased from history.

Don’t be surprised if a majority of L.A.’s city council members vote to replace Columbus Day. Even considering such a crazy proposal is one of the reasons I call it Kookfornia.
