Fatah official implicitly encourages violence against Israel: “We must … shake the foundations of Israel … Necessity permits that which is forbidden”

Israel’s ostensible peace partners are at it again, threatening like petulant children to unleash a temper tantrum of violence if they don’t get what they want.
In a December 12, 2019 interview on An-Najah Broadcasting Channel, Palestinian Authority (PA) official Abbas Zaki implicitly called for Palestinian terror attacks against Israel. He did this despite the fact that the Palestinians supposedly eschewed violence when they agreed to join the “Oslo” peace process.
Zaki was asked by his host what the Palestinians should do if Israel fails to recognize their claim to Jerusalem by permitting PA elections to take place there.
“We must…shake the foundations of Israel,” Zaki replied.
To which his host wondered, “How?”
“Necessity permits that which is forbidden,” the PA official stated in a clear reference to the kind of terrorist violence that only serves to perpetuate the conflict.
Abbas Zaki is a member of the Central Committee of Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas’ ruling Fatah party. He is also the PA’s official liaison for China relations.
This would be the equivalent of a top unelected government official in the US or any European country going on TV and encouraging citizens to kill anyone who opposed their national agenda.
So, why aren’t you hearing about it when even the PA’s most well-groomed, best-educated and most-influential are advocating violence and bloodshed?
Because they make such threats in Arabic, knowing that so doing gives the mainstream international media the excuse it needs to ignore Palestinian intransigence and maintain the narrative that the lack of peace is all Israel’s fault.
But the reality remains that Palestinian terror and the failure of the PA leadership to educate their people for genuine peace is the true reason that the conflict persists.
EDITOR’S NOTE: Peace, when the other party is dead set on destroying you, is not possible.
