Former Assistant CHP Chief got sweetheart deal
by Bob Walsh
Kyle Scarber used to be an Assistant Chief in the California Highway Patrol. He was almost a convicted felon. Almost, but not quite.
His son got into deep shit when he raped a neighbor's housekeeper in Fresno back in 2012. Mommy and Daddy, and maybe sister, helped him flee to Mexico. They did it. No doubt about it. They eventually caught the little bastard, Spencer Scarber, and he is now doing 35-life.
The parents initially agreed to plead no contest each to one count of felon conspiracy. Once they complete their sentences, which are probation, community service and restitution, these convictions will be reduced to misdemeanors. The daughter's caught 250 hours of community service.
During their arduous 6-month probation they can't leave the state, can not possess weapons and have search waivers.
Scarber applied for a disability pension. He was allowed to resign rather than be fired so he will apparently get it. $125,000, tax free.
