Two amateur archeologists, one of them only 13 years old, made a major find in the Baltic recently. They discovered several hundred silver coins and a fair amount of jewelry associated with the reign of King Harald Gormsson, who was king of the Dane's in the 10th century.
The find was made in a field near the village of Schaprode on the Island of Ruegen, which is now part of Germany. I don't now how the law works over there on such things but I hope the finders got a major reward.
After the initial find the government and professionals took over the recovery.
