BLACK PHILADELPHIA POLICE CHIEF REFUSES TO PLAY THE RACE CARD

Video showing two men being arrested in Starbucks went viral because the arrestees were black

The way social media users took it, the arrest of two black men at a Philadelphia Starbucks showed that either the coffee shop employees or the cops, or both, are racists. Why else would these poor bastards get busted? Well, race had nothing to do with it. But try explaining that to those who see a racist hiding behind every bush and underneath every bed.

Here is a brief excerpt from Sunday’s Daily Mail:

Philadelphia's police commissioner is defending officers who arrested two black men at a Starbucks. Videos posted online show the officers handcuffing the men in the downtown establishment on Thursday. A white man in the video is heard saying he was meeting with the men and calls the arrest 'ridiculous'.

Commissioner Richard Ross said on Saturday that Starbucks employees called 911 to say the men were trespassing. He said officers were told that the men had come in and asked to use the restroom but were denied because they hadn't bought anything, as he said is company policy. He said they then refused to leave. He said the officers 'did absolutely nothing wrong' and were professional in their conduct toward the individuals but 'got the opposite back.'

The two men were placed into handcuffs and escorted out of the video, which is shown in a viral video that has since garnered more than 3.2million views.

While the police chief said there was no “implicit bias” in the arrest, that’s not the way countless outraged social media users see it. They are convinced Starbucks would not have called the police and the cops would not have arrested the men had they been white. There have been the usual demonstrations in the streets of several cities with calls to boycott Starbucks and demands for the cops to be fired.

Philadelphia’s mayor was quick to play the race card by asking the city Commission on Human Relations to examine Starbucks’ “extent of, or need for, implicit bias training of its employees.”

The two men were released eight hours later because Starbucks refused to file a complaint. Starbucks puked all over itself apologizing profusely and its CEO was flying to Philadelphia to apologize in person to the two men who were arrested. The store manager has been fired (for enforcing company policy that only buying customers can use its shitters).

Had Philadelphia’s police chief been white, he would have puked all over himself trying to placate those who saw the arrests as racist. He would have made a public pronouncement saying he was deeply disturbed by the arrests.

There are still some police chiefs like Commissioner Richard Ross who have the balls to stand their ground against those who see a racist hiding behind every bush and underneath every bed, but unfortunately those chiefs are few and far between.
