This messy crime went down in Oregon Thursday and left three people dead and one wounded but likely to survive.
The two dead guys were local high-school wrestling coaches and long-term friends. Kenneth Valdez, 45, was apparently shot to death in the bedroom of his home in Hermiston. Jason Huston, also 45, was found dead in the same bedroom, apparently from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
James Hurtado, 14, was found dead from a gunshot wound in a remote area of Umatilla County later that evening. He had been missing since that morning. Coach Houston had picked him up that morning to play a game of disc golf. Coach Houston was described as a father figure to the young Hurtado.
The dead boy’s mother, Andria Bye, 35, was found in the home at the same time as the two dead men. She was suffering from a gunshot wound.
The shootings at the house happened about 11:15 a.m. The woman has given a detailed statement to the local constabulary. The cops are playing this one very close to the vest.
EDITOR'S NOTE: Father figure? Looks to me like somewhere in this group there was some homosexuality involved.
