According to ABC-13, Texas tops in the nation in the numbers of cases of teachers charged with or found guilty of inappropriate sexual relationships with students. So far this year, that number is at 100, according to expert Terry Abbott, who is monitoring the cases and training teachers on the topic. Pennsylvania is in second place with 37 reported cases and California is third with 35. States with the fewest include Alaska with two and Maine and Montana with one each.
In 2012, Kennedale high school teacher Brittni Colleps, the married mother of three children, ages 8, 6 and 5, gained nationwide notoriety for having had sex with five of her students at her home in Arlington, sometimes with up to four students at once. Sounds like a numero uno for teachers to me.
Looks like a lot of boys are getting lucky with their teachers in Texas. Of course there have also been a number of cases where women teachers, usually PE teachers and coaches, have had sex with girls from their classes. And there have been a few cases where male teachers have molested boys from their classes.
For a number of years Texas has led the nation in the number of teachers engaging in sexual relations with their students. 100 so far this year makes for a lot of boys getting lucky.
Hey, in Texas we always do things bigger and better. All the other states can eat their hearts out!
