National Rifle Association employee accidentally shoots himself on the job when holstering his gun

A man who works at the National Rifle Association headquarters has accidentally shot himself during firearms training.
The 46-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to his lower body after mistakenly discharging his pistol in Fairfax County, Virginia on Thursday.
The weapon is believed to have discharged when the man holstered his gun.
The NRA employee was rushed to hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
Police said the shooting happened at the NRA's National Firearms Museum in Fairfax.
The man had been taking part in firearms training at the time.
Local authorities investigated the incident alongside the Commonwealth's Attorney's Office and decided no charges were expected to be filed.
