On Tuesday of this week three people attempted an armed robbery of a little old lady in the parking lot at ColstCo in Lodi. She did not feel inclined to be robbed and started screaming like a mashed cat. The cadre of customers in the immediate area immediately took out their cell phones and starting taking photos of the miscreants and their vehicle. They fled, heading for Stockton.
A few minutes later the Stockton P D got calls of the occupant of a car matching this description wearing masks and waving a gun at other cars on Hammer Lane just off of Hwy 99. The unsuccessful criminal assholes fled with the cops in pursuit, for about a minute. The car crossed to the wrong side of Hammer Lane and rolled over, hitting other vehicles and a bicyclist.
Two of the three bad guys, Daquan Blackwell, 15, and Darrell Carpenter, 17. Were killed in the crash. The third bad guy, an unnamed 15-year old, is in the hospital and likely to survive. All of the good guys in the other vehicles and the bicyclist will survive, none were seriously injured. Pieces of a broken gun were found in the wreckage.
