HOPLOPHOBIA

by Bob Walsh

Hoplophibia is the unreasonable and excessive fear of the presence of weapons.

A few days at a uniformed Tennessee Wildlife Resources Officer was having dindin in an Outback Restaurant when he was asked to leave by the manager. It seems that a customer was fearful that the officer would shoot her for no reason. The manager originally asked the officer to put his weapon in his vehicle, which he of course could not and would not do. After making a phone call the manager then informed the officer that Outback was a "gun-free zone" and asked him to leave.

The internet went batshit crazy over this after a FaceBook post about it and Outback had to eat a ton of crow. They contacted the officer in question, offered their apologies and a $100 gift card.

It is unknown if the officer accepted the apology and/or the $100.
