Tom Homan is the Acting Director of ICE. He has just said that the soon-to-be legal shift in CA to an official (as opposed to functional but unofficial) Sanctuary State undermines public safety and pees on his parade. He has said that this will absolutely result in more of what he calls "collateral arrests."
Director Homan has also said that since it is now difficult for ICE to contract detention beds within the state that ICE detainees will be shipped out of state pending processing, further away from their families. But that's OK, I hear that Oklahoma is a lovely place.
