This past weekend in Chicago there were 48 shooting incidents. Six people died, 56 were wounded.
In the same general time frame a gorilla was shot to death in the Cincinnati zoo in order to protect a 4-year old that managed to get himself into the gorilla enclosure.
There is a huge public outcry over the death of the gorilla. There is an investigation under way by the cops and the DA. The kid’s parents are receiving death threats and there is an internet shit storm over the whole incident. People are screaming for the parents to be prosecuted.
Nobody seems to give a rat’s ass about the 62 people being shot in Chicago, except maybe those who got shot and their immediate circle of friends and family.
Perhaps the new Police Superintendent, Eddie Johnson, is a trifle concerned but maybe not. I am confident he is a good Democrat and the Democrat power structure will do what it can to pretend everything is wonderful and would be even more wonderful if only more honest, law-abiding citizens could be legally disarmed.
