If you follow news in the firearms business you know that a lot of major banking concerns are refusing to do business with them. This is having a serious negative effect on small and medium size gun manufacturers as well as people who manufacture accessories or supplies used by shooters.
Kevin Cramer is a U. S. Senator from North Dakota. He is proposing legislation that would prohibit discrimination by large federally connected banking concerns (which is almost all of them) against this group of businesses for political reasons.
Senator Cramer and many of his conservative colleagues have expressed problems with the notion that banking concerns are becoming the "arbiters of constitutionality."
This bill, the Freedom Financing Act, would also prohibit credit card payment networks from refusing to serve these customers for political reasons.
