People leave things on airplanes all the time. Wallets. Cell phones. Rubbers. Paperback books. Hardly ever do they leave human body parts.
While flying over Idaho the captain of a Southwest airliner, flight 3606, announced that they had to turn back to Seattle. It seems that a human heart that was supposed to be left off at a local hospital there had inadvertently not been taken off.
It seems that the heart itself was not going to be transplanted but a valve from the heart was going to be removed and used at some unspecified future time. That was supposed to be done in Sacramento, CA.
At this stage it is still fuzzy about what the fuck was really going on and who exactly screwed the pooch.
The plane was taken out of service when it landed back at Seattle, for "unrelated mechanical issues" and the passengers were sent on their way on another aircraft. A total delay of about five hours was incurred.
That is kind of like leaving a sleeping six-year old alone on a school bus in the bus yard. It should NEVER happen and would not happen if somebody had been doing the J.O.B. Somebody should have their ass handed to them for this.
