Kelly’s attempt to show Putin was behind the Russian interference with our election was doomed to failure

On Friday evening, NBC TV aired a one-hour special of Megyn Kelly’s interview of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Unlike Barbara Walters, who pitched softballs at Putin during a 2001 interview, Kelly threw hardballs at the Russian leader throughput the interview. I’ll give her credit for that. But the former KGB agent knows how to play the game and, in my opinion, was the clear winner of the combative interview.
Kelly tried again and again and again, through repetitive questions and outright accusations, to sucker Putin into admitting he was involved in the presidential election interference. When that failed to work, she again and again and again questioned Putin about what he intended to do concerning the 13 Russians indicted by Robert Mueller. Putin said he couldn’t care less because they had not broken any Russian laws.
Blame the Jews as usual. At one point Putin told Kelly we should check out whether Jews with Russian citizenship were the ones who interfered in our presidential election. Ah yes, anti-Semitism always rears its ugly head in Slavic states.
Kelly clearly failed to penetrate the steely look of the former KGB agent.
The interview was interspersed with comments from NBC consultants, each insisting that Putin was guilty as sin. I suppose if you cannot get Putin to admit his complicity, it helps to dig up some experts to the contrary.
I was looking forward to watching the interview, but Kelly’s repetitiveness put me to sleep about 10 minutes before the end of the broadcast.
