The Eastman Kodak Company (aka The Great Yellow Father to film photographers) was at one time a component of the Dow Jones Industrial Averages. George Eastman regularly took a camping vacation with whatever politician happened to be President and with whoever the current head of General Motors was at the time. He was a BIG deal.
Kodak actually invented the digital camera, then did nothing with it and damn near died when the "wet" photography business spiraled into near extinction.
Kodak announced they are developing their own cryptocurrency, KodakCoin, to be used primarily within the photo business. Their stock price jumped up about 300% in the few days following that announcement.
Kodak went into bankruptcy six years ago and has been struggling to refocus it's business. Whether this will be a flash in the pan or something more substantial has yet to be determined.
