Now, to be fair to the U. S. Dept. of Fish and Wildlife, they don't think the Florida Keys Mole Skink is in any great danger. Even though it hangs out in an area just pounded by a couple of hurricanes the feds think that it is probably doing just fine. They have, therefore, declined to extend protection to this critter as well as 14 species of Nevada Springsnails.
Life is hard.
