Oscar-nominated actor James Woods says he's retiring from the entertainment industry.
The news was included in a press release issued by Woods' real estate agent offering Woods' Rhode Island lake house for sale.
Allen Gammons said Friday that Woods is 70 and wants to relax.
The property, on Boone Lake in Exeter, Rhode Island, is selling for $1.39million. The actor owns four homes in the state.
Gammons also added that the actor's brother and mother recently died, and he hopes to spend more time on passions including photography, antiquing and poker.
Woods is known for his conservative political views and has said that's made it tough to find work in Hollywood.
Gammons said Woods' decision was not political.
He is most well known for roles in movies Hercules, Once Upon A Time in America, Casino and White House Down.
The actor came under fire when he slammed an age gap between leads in upcoming film Call Me by Your Name, featuring two men aged 24 and 17.
Actress Amber Tamblyn last month said Woods tried to pick her up when she was 16. Woods called it a lie on Twitter.
Gammons said Woods declined to comment Friday when asked about Tamblyn's accusation.
The actress tweeted 'the dethroning continues,' upon news of his retirement.
EDITOR’S NOTE: What a shame! Woods was always one of my favorite actors going back to 1979's The Onion Field. My admiration for Woods had nothing to do with his politics. But it’s also a shame that there are only a handful of Hollywood actors that are conservative.
Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein, a liberal and hefty contributor to the Clinton campaigns and to the Clinton Foundation, has just been accused by multiple women of sexual harassment. The Hollywood community’s silence is deafening. It appears as though it’s OK for a Hollywood liberal to break the law, but it’s not OK for an actor like James Woods to express his conservative political opinions.
