I think more public high schools should offer these programs. When was the last time you needed a plumber or electrician to do work that is up to code? These trades make a good living.
I have a friend who wants to retire but can't because his daughter attends Texas A&M. He works an extra job 3 days a week so she can have a degree to teach school at $40k a year?
Even in-state tuition is out of reach for many.
These trade programs work and cost nothing but school taxes that we are already paying.
