Tafahree Maynard, 18, ain't never going to make it to 19 due to a series of really bad choices in his life.
He had one or more colleges were hanging out in a car near a school when Officer Antwan Toney, 30, rolled up on them in response to a suspicious vehicle call. The occupants fired on Officer Toney, who died from his wounds.
Tafarhree Maynard was quickly determined to be a suspect and a manhunt began. The cops received information that he was hiding out in a residential area of Snellville, Georgia, near where the original shooting happened. Pretty much every cop in the county descended on the area. Maynard came out of the shed he was hiding in with a gun in his hand. Bad move. They picked up what was left of him with a mop.
While this was certainly a poor outcome for Mr. Maynard it was probably a good deal for the taxpayers, shelling out a little overtime and some ammo costs in exchange for not having to have a long, expensive trial.
EDITOR'S NOTE: Finally a cop killer is shot dead instead of being sweet talked into giving up. Hallelujah!
