Yes, it's true. Denmark is about to begin a 43.4 mile border fence between them and Germany to protect their native pork business, which is considerable.
It seems that there is believed to be an outbreak of African Swine Flu within the feral pig population in parts of the European Union and they don't want it to impact their business. The bug is harmless to humans but kills swine like crazy, and if you are in the pork business that is not such a wonderful thing.
The fence will be only five feet high. I guess wild pigs don't climb so good.
