OK, this one is unique in my experience, though the circumstances are somewhat strange. The dramatis personae are a female Miramar, FL, police officer. She was in her police car, fleeing from the father of her children. Much of this mess, which mostly happened on I-75, was recorded on the dash cam of a private citizen.
It seems that Miramar P D Officer Ashley Abreu got into a domestic with Roberto Zaldivar in her home in Hialeah just prior to her leaving for work. The incident allegedly got violent. Abreu left for work in her take-home cruiser and Zaldivar pursued in a gold Nissan Altima. Officer Abreu tried to avoid and evade with little luck. Among other things Zaldivar sideswiped her patrol car and attempted to force her to a stop by pulling in front and slamming on his brakes.
Zaldivar is currently a guest of the people of Miami-Dade pending $20,000 bail. Among the charges are burglary, A&B and domestic battery by strangulation. That does not include any of the violations related to the car chase.
