After one year in prison, paroled to live in a run-down, rat-infested slum for four years with only enough funds to sustain himself, and with a police officer as his parole officer

On Tuesday I wrote: Here’s wishing that when he [Ethan Couch] is returned to Texas, a juvenile judge will declare Ethan an adult and remand him to an adult court, where hopefully he will be sentenced to prison for violating his 10-year probation sentence.
I’ve given that some thought and come up with an alternative punishment for the ‘Affluenza Kid.’
Sentence Couch to five years in prison, but parole him after one year to live in a tiny walk-up flat at a run-down, rat-infested slum for four years with not one penny more than enough funds to sustain himself, and with a police officer as his parole officer.
Couch would have to be fitted with a tamper-proof GPS. He would be visited at least once a day by his parole officer, a no-nonsense police officer who, in addition to his regular duties, is especially assigned to supervise him. No sissy social worker parole officer for the Affluenza Kid. He would be given a city job as a sewer worker within the slum. Any pay in excess of what he needs to sustain himself would be held in trust for him until he completes his sentence.
Every time Couch leaves the slum without authorization, he would be jailed in solitary confinement for 30 days and another year would be added to his parole in the slum.
This way Couch can learn one of life’s lessons, one which he could never learn at his affluent home with mom and dad – he will learn what it's like to experience the life of a ‘Destitutenza Kid.’
Would a court rule this to be a cruel and unusual punishment? Probably, but it sure seems appropriate for this sorry-ass spoiled brat.
