         The cannabis industry's best friend

 

One of BGB's readers recently commented that "45-47 is waging a real war on drugs and it's working. Sadly, the history on the War on Drugs is dismal at best."

Wrong on both counts, dead wrong.

To begin with, when Trump rescheduled Marijuana, he actually declared war on the war on drugs. He downgraded marijuana in order to please the cannabis industry and not to help cancer sufferers as he so falsely claimed. All you have to do is look at Trump's signing ceremony which was packed with representatives of the cannabis industry.

With marijuana now downgraded to a Schedule III drug, many more youths and others will start using pot. That's real good news for the cannabis industry. And the Mexican drug cartels are rejoicing too. 

The increase in the use of marijuana will result in a significant increase of harder drugs like heroin, fentanyl, cocaine and meth. And the increase in demand for illicit drugs has China and the Mexican drug cartels counting millions of dollars they would not have gotten had marijuana remained a Schedule I drug. And who can the Chinese and the drug cartels thank? Why, it' no one other than President Trump.

Now what about the war on drugs being dismal at best. Where did he get that baloney? While it's true that we are not winning that war, many notable victories have been scored. Blowing up small Venezuelan boats is not one of them. The US Coast Guard, the DEA and other American law enforcement agencies have and continue to make significant drug seizures, thereby keeping those drugs from being sold on our streets.

We could have won the war on drugs during the Vietnam War era. That's when there was a massive increase in the use of drugs by the multitude of youths protesting the war. Prior to that we did not care about Mexicans and blacks being imprisoned for the use and possession of marijuana and other illegal drugs. But when the youths from upstanding families were using drugs, heaven forbid they should spend a day in jail. By not jailing drug users, the war on drugs was deprived of its most potent weapon - the punishment of illegal drug users.

Trump has a habit of referring to reports of his declining popularity and other unfavorable reports as being a hoax. Well, there is no bigger hoax than that of medical marijuana. 

The December 15 issue of the New York Post, a conservative media outlet, had a report headlined "Shocking medical marijuana study reveals Big Weed’s big lies." The report states: A bombshell new review from researchers at top-tier universities, appearing in the Journal of the American Medical Association, concludes that “evidence from randomized clinical trials does not support the use of cannabis or cannabinoids for most conditions for which it is promoted, such as acute pain and insomnia.” In other words, Medical marijuana doesn’t work — right there, in black and white, despite years of promoters and addiction profiteers shouting that it was the next miracle drug.

So when Trump said he was rescheduling marijuana to help cancer sufferers, he was telling a big fat lie. And don't give us that nonsense of him waging a real war on drugs and it's working. Quite the opposite is true.

Shocking medical marijuana study reveals Big Weed’s big lies

Flanked primarily by cannabis industry representatives, President Trump on December 18th directed his administration to follow a Biden policy recommendation and proceed with the process of moving marijuana from Schedule I into Schedule III.

 

Marijuana advocate Keith Stroup famously said that medical marijuana was a “red herring” for making the recreational use of the drug legal — and now the data have proven him 100% correct.

A bombshell new review from researchers at top-tier universities, appearing in the Journal of the American Medical Association, concludes that “evidence from randomized clinical trials does not support the use of cannabis or cannabinoids for most conditions for which it is promoted, such as acute pain and insomnia.”

In other words, Medical marijuana doesn’t work — right there, in black and white, despite years of promoters and addiction profiteers shouting that it was the next miracle drug.

It won’t cure insomnia or chronic pain or psychological problems.

What does it do?

The authors found that smoking weed every day more than doubles your risk of heart disease and stroke, and that the use of today’s high-potency THC vastly increases the risk of psychosis and anxiety disorders.

They also found that almost 30% of people using medical marijuana met the criteria for cannabis use disorder, better known as addiction.

For perspective, between 3% and 12% of people using opioids medically fall into that category.

While a handful of FDA-approved medicines contain cannabinoids, the raw plant itself is not and can never be medicine.

 

 

The products obtained at “medical marijuana” dispensaries are not regulated like pharmaceuticals, and their claims are not backed up by scientific evidence.

There is no standard dosing procedure, no government safety testing, no product verification, and no real physician oversight to verify if the products are helping — or if they are actually doing harm.

And unlike prescription medications, products can vary from batch to batch.

The new study builds on the findings of prior research.

A May 2025 study found that marijuana causes vascular damage, and a March meta-analysis found that marijuana users are 51% more likely than non-users to have had a heart attack.

A recent European study found that the risk of type 2 diabetes was four times higher among marijuana users.   

Yet thanks to a toxic combination of corporate avarice and a steadfast refusal to confront the actual science, some 38 states and the District of Columbia now let doctors make medical marijuana recommendations.

The state-level data around how these recommendations work should worry anyone concerned about public health.

In Pennsylvania in 2022, 17 doctors — you read that right — issued an astounding 132,000 medical marijuana certifications, one-third of the state’s total that year.

The results: widespread social normalization of marijuana use, just as Stroup and other advocates intended — and all the social ills that follow.

Remember that marijuana use has deep connections to psychosis, violence and crime.

One 2024 study found a connection between daily cannabis use and higher rates of violence, especially among younger men.

A massive Danish study linked the drug to as many as 30% of schizophrenia cases among young males.

A 2019 study in Colorado found that “density of marijuana outlets in spatially adjacent areas were positively related [to] property crime in spatially adjacent areas over time.” A similar study in California uncovered the same result.

A landmark 2024 study found a strong connection between legalized recreational pot and lasting increases in murder, larceny and other crimes.

 

New reviews find medical marijuana doesn’t work for most conditions, despite claims.

 

It’s slamming New York, too: In a recent report, we found that consumption has increased in the Empire State since legalization, along with emergency-room visits for weed and use by pregnant women — even as the illegal market bloomed, with an estimated 8,000 unlicensed shops statewide.

Over the long term, the more common and normalized weed use gets, the more cities, counties and states will see avoidable tragedies.

Another common claim from advocates: Advancing marijuana legalization would help marginalized communities.

But zero people are in federal prison for simple pot possession, and virtually no one is imprisoned at the state level for weed offenses alone.

And data deeply inconvenient to the wider “equity” argument came out this summer from Harvard and Columbia researchers: Poorer, less-white areas are between 2 and 2.5 times as likely to have pot shops.

Marginalized communities suffer the most when weed shops move in.

In short, all the claims behind legal marijuana — medical or recreational — go up in smoke on closer examination.

Big Weed has sold us a bill of goods, and we’ve given ourselves over to a mass mania, disregarding scientific proof.

President Trump is reportedly poised to downgrade marijuana’s federal classification, and in so doing, hand a massive boost to the weed industry.

He’s even posted videos on Truth Social extolling the (sketchy) benefits of CBD oil.

But this new study shows America needs to cut off, not foster, corporate marijuana.

For the sake of science, safety and public health, the president should pay heed.

TRUMP DECLARED WAR AGAINST THE WAR ON DRUGS

On Thursday, President Trump signed an executive order to reclassify marijuana from a Schedule I drug to a Schedule III drug. In doing so, Trump declared war against the war on drugs.

 

I first became involved in the war on drugs some 70 years ago. One thing I know for sure is that marijuana is one of the most dangerous of all drugs because it is a gateway drug. When marijuana users no longer get the high they were seeking, they often turn to harder drugs. 

 

During the six years I specialized in narcotics enforcement, I came into close contact with dozens of hardcore heroin addicts. Each and every one of those heroin users started out on pot. The same can be said for most of the cocaine users and the users of other potent drugs that I came into contact with. And those addicts were not restricted to the riffraff of society. I busted two doctors and several lawyers for heroin use. They all started out with a 'harmless' puff or two of pot.  

               

 

A 20 year study by a team led by Professor Wayne Hall, a drug adviser to the World Health Organization, found cannabis is highly addictive, causes mental health problems, doubles the risk of developing psychotic disorders, including schizophrenia and opens the door to hard drugs.

 

Most of the discomfort cancer patients sufferer comes from the chemotherapy. Trump calls his decision "common sense" because "so many people" suffering from the pain caused by cancer wanted him to reclassify marijuana. But a study by Dr. Penny Whiting and her team at England’s University of Bristol found that cannabis does not ease pain, nausea and vomiting in chemotherapy patients.

 

Marijuana is not the magic elixir that our President has been fooled into believing that it is. While marijuana may offer some relief to cancer sufferers, so will the consumption of alcoholic beverages. And even cigarettes offer some relief. The reclassification of marijuana will do much more harm than any good.

 

 

26 Republican lawmakers warned Trump that he is sending the wrong message on marijuana. "Rescheduling tells our youth that marijuana use is acceptable and safe, a dangerous falsehood that will sink us deeper into our country’s drug crisis,"

 

Pot advocates insist that marijuana is an innocuous drug. But a study released by Finnish researchers who worked alongside Cambridge and Queensland experts, showed that smoking cannabis just five times as a teenager raises the risk of psychosis. Researchers at the University of Ohio found a similar link between cannabis and psychosis.   

 

Ever since the epidemic of illegal drug use started with the youthful Vietnam War protesters, we have been dealing with the problem in the wrong - dead wrong - way.  The way to control the use of illegal drugs is by punishing the users.

 

The snuggling of drugs into our country, no matter whether from Mexico, China or South America, is governed by the Law of Supply and Demand. Our demand for drugs created the Mexican drug cartels. The insatiable hunger for drugs by Americans makes it hard to win the war on drugs.

 

Trump has now become an enabler of illegal drug use. By his stupid reclassification of marijuana, he has made it even harder to win the war on drugs ... as a matter of fact, Trump has now declared war against the war on drugs.

TRUMP PROVES ONCE AND FOR ALL WHAT A SORRY NO-CLASS ASSHOLE HE IS

“Rob Reiner, a tortured and struggling, but once very talented movie director and comedy star, has passed away, together with his wife, Michele, reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS,”

Instead of offering condolences or just keeping his big mouth shut, that is what Trump said about the murder of  Rob Reiner. True, Reiner was an outspoken liberal and strong critic of President Trump, calling him “mentally unfit.” But only a sorry no-class asshole would say that about someone who had just been murdered.

Even some Republicans slammed Trump for his inappropriate remarks. Marjorie Taylor Greene, once Trump's most loyal and ardent supporter, said:

“Rob Reiner and his wife were tragically killed at the hands of their own son, who reportedly had drug addiction and other issues, and their remaining children are left in serious mourning and heartbreak. This is a family tragedy, not about politics or political enemies. Many families deal with a family member with drug addiction and mental health issues. It’s incredibly difficult and should be met with empathy especially when it ends in murder.”

I thought that draft dodger Trump couldn't get any lower when he disrespected American POWs and called our soldiers "losers" that are buried in Normandy. His inappropriate remarks about Rob Reiner are just as low.

Derangement? It is President Trump who is deranged. 

A TRUE HERO: AHMED AL-AHMED, AN AUSTRALIAN MUSLIM, RISKED HIS LIFE TO SAVE THE LIVES OF JEWS

While the shooting was in progress, 43-year-old Ahmed al-Ahmed, the father-of-two and a fruit shop owner, jumped on one of the terrorist and managed to wrestle the gun from him. He was shot in the arm and hand while disarming the gunman..

RATS GETTING FAT AND HIGH ON DRUGS STORED IN THE EVIDENCE ROOM ON THE 25TH FLOOR OF HOUSTON'S POLICE HEADQUARTERS

 Houston, we have a problem.

The narcotics evidence room on the 25th floor of police headquarters holds among other drugs, according to Mayor Whitmire, 400,000 pounds of marijuana, and rats are getting fat and high eating it.

The rats are also getting into other narcotics thereby possibly compromising some active cases. 

A rat is seen breaking into a bag of narcotics in the Houston Police evidence room.

 

Some of the evidence dates back to 1984 ... yes that's right, 1984. That's absolutely ridiculous.

 

As far as the marijuana is concerned, the Houston cops have been using outdated evidence techniques. Instead of storing large amounts of weed, all the cops need to do at the seizure scene is take some samples and photograph them along with a photo of the total seizure. After the photos have been taken, the samples and photos are kept and the rest of the marijuana can be burned and destroyed. Then an officer can testify in court where the jury will be shown the samples and photographs.   

 

As things stand now, the rats are getting fat and high on the 25th floor of Houston's police headquarters ... and shitting all over the place. 

 

And at the trial. DEFENSE ATTORNEY: Officer, you said you seized 30 pounds of marijuana, but there's only 20 pounds here. OFFICER: The rats must have have ate the other 10 pounds. JUDGE, JURY, DEFENDANT, BAILIFFS, STENOGRAPHER and SPECTATORS: Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! 

AMERICA'S ASSHOLE IN CHIEF

“You are the most obnoxious reporter in the whole place,. Let me just tell you, you are an obnoxious—actually, a terrible reporter. And it’s always the same thing with you. I told you, whatever Pete Hegseth wants to do, is OK with me.”

That's how President Trump responded to respected ABC News Senior Political Correspondent Rachel Scott on Monday when she pressed him about his previous statement that he had no problem with the release of the second strike video.

Trump did say that on December 3 as recorded on TV, but has backtracked since, calling the ABC News reporting fake news. 

That's what Trump does best, venomous personal attacks against people who disagree with him or put him on the spot like Rachel Scott did. And that's what assholes do.

This is just the latest example of Trump's deranged rants against people. Trump even called his most loyal and strident supporter Marjorie Taylor Greene a "ranting lunatic" when she dared to disagree with some of his policies. MTG is well known for some of her lunatic rants, but Trump must have been looking in the mirror when he called her that.

I am still very glad that the disgraceful idiot Kamala Harris is not our president and that we have the Asshole in Chief instead. 

HEGSETH'S LAME 'FOG OF WAR' EXCUSE

During a cabinet meeting on December 2, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth blamed the "Fog of War" for the attack on the two men clinging onto the boat wreckage. Add Hegseth to the crazies - RFK Jr. and Kristi Noem - in Trump's cabinet.

 

For those who do not believe there was anything wrong with the second strike, here is a lesson from AI Overview:

customary international law protect shipwrecked individuals and prohibit attacking vessels no longer posing a threat, treating them as "hors de combat" (out of the fight). Attacking a vessel that's already struck, disabled, or its crew trying to survive at sea (shipwrecked) is a war crime, requiring humane treatment, rescue, and prohibiting further attacks, as detailed in Geneva Conventions I, II, and Additional Protocol I, emphasizing protection for all, including civilians, in such helpless states.

Even if that were true, the attack on a disabled vessel or its survivors is still a war crime according to the Geneva Conventions.

 

This is not what the American people voted for. Trump was elected president not by those who voted for him, but by the people who voted against that disgraceful idiot Kamala Harris. If the Democrats had fielded a good candidate, Trump would now be at home in Florida, spending his time on the golf course or watching football games on TV.

 

To the rest of the world, the second strike does not make America great again.

The masked burglar broke into the closed Virginia liquor store early on Saturday and hit the bottom shelf, where the scotch and whisky were stored. 

The bandit was something of a nocturnal menace: bottles were smashed, a ceiling tile collapsed and alcohol pooled on the floor.

The suspect acted like an animal because, in fact, he's a raccoon.

On Saturday morning, an employee at the Ashland, Virginia, liquor store found the small animal passed out on the bathroom floor at the end of his drunken escapade.

Photos taken of the furry creature showed it lying on its front between a toilet and a bin, with its limbs splayed out.  

'I personally like raccoons,' said Samantha Martin, an officer who works at the local animal control. 

'They are funny little critters. He fell through one of the ceiling tiles and went on a full-blown rampage, drinking everything.'

Martin said she took the raccoon back to the animal shelter, though she had her fair share of giggles along the way.

'Another day in the life of an animal control officer, I guess,' she said. 

The Hanover County Animal Protection and Shelter commended Martin for handling the break-in, and confirmed the raccoon had sobered up.

'After a few hours of sleep and zero signs of injury (other than maybe a hangover and poor life choices), he was safely released back to the wild, hopefully having learned that breaking and entering is not the answer,' the agency said.
