HONONLULU CHIEF OF POLICE WANTS MORE GUN LAWS

by Bob Walsh

Susan Ballard is the Chief of Police in beautiful Honolulu. She is pushing for a "high capacity" (actually factory standard capacity) rifle magazine ban and restrictions on ammo sales.

One of the proposals would put requirements on recording of firearms transfers after the owner dies. Ammunition sellers would have to have proof that you own a legally registered firearm before they could sell you ammo. (It isn't real clear what form this proof would consist of.) Currently owners of rifles legally owned before 1994 do not have to register them. This would create a mandatory, back-door registration system.

Hawaii has as relatively low level of firearms violence.

EDITOR'S NOTE: Shit, if she gets her way, Hawaii Five-0 will be a lot less exciting.
